A Message from our Principal
Thank you for visiting our website. We have a lot to be proud of and our website is just one small way to show all of the wonderful things we do for children each and every day.
As a school, we believe that it is our mission to help all of our students develop the talents that God has given them so that they grow to be wise, confident, kind, and caring individuals. We recognize that every child is a gift from God; therefore, we aim to treat each one as if he/she were the only one in the classroom.
Our philosophy of education is teaching the whole child. St.Odilia is committed to academic excellence, but recognizes that this is only one part of a complete education. At St. Odilia, we have a balance of academic excellence, faith formation, character development, and service; all †of which, empower students to be successful in todayís world. As a staff, we work in collaboration with parents to ensure that students obtain a solid foundation in all of these areas. As the schoolís principal, I believe that when parents and our faculty work together, children win every time; this is why I work closely with parents and faculty, while being highly accessible and visible to the children.
The vision for our school is simple: to provide a safe, loving, nurturing, learning environment for children to achieve high academic standards through our advanced curriculum and state of the art technology; to help our children grow spiritually through the teachings of the gospel; to teach them the value of service through our outreach programs; and to work to develop their character to be one that is full of integrity. We instill the courage to do what is right versus what is popular.
This is my fourth year as principal at St. Odilia. I have fifteen years of educational experience in Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of St. Paul/Minneapolis: five as a middle school teacher and ten as a principal. I have served as an adjunct instructor at St. Maryís University of Minnesota in their graduate level Educational Leadership Program. Additionally, I have served as President of the Archdiocesan Catholic School Principalís Association and as the Assistant Chair on the Archdiocese Advisory†Council†of the Superintendent. Currently I serve†as a Board of Director for the Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association.
I have a B.A. from St. Johnís University, an M.A. in Educational Administration from St. Maryís University of Minnesota, an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of St. Thomas, and a K-12 Principalís License. As a product of Catholic education since preschool, I have a first-hand understanding of the benefits of Catholic schools, and I encourage you to schedule a visit and come and see for yourself why St. Odilia is such a wonderful place to be!†

Warm Regards,
Brian Ragatz†††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††††† †††††††
