Below are answers to some questions that parents frequently ask. Questions not addressed here may be answered in the school handbook.  Also, you are welcome to call the school office with any questions: 651.484.3364.
What are the school hours?
9:05 to 9:20 a.m.: Students arrive  (PLEASE DO NOT arrive before 9:05am)
9:25 a.m.: School begins
9:30 a.m.: All-school prayer
12:20 p.m.: Morning kindergarten dismissal
3:55 p.m.: Dismissal

When does registration occur?
The formal registration for St. Odilia occurs in January.  Contact the school office for the specific date and details. St. Odilia does not discriminate based on race, gender, creed, color, place of national origin, age, or physical disability.

How much is tuition?
Contact the school office for current tuition rates. As the school is a parish ministry, it is financed through a combination of parish subsidy, tuition, and donations. Families of students are encouraged to contribute to the parish through regular Sunday contributions. To help make it possible for families to have their children attend St. Odilia School, financial aid is available for parish families.

Is busing provided?
Students who live within the St. Odilia School boundaries may be bused to and from school via public school transportation. For students who live outside of the St. Odilia School boundaries, charter busing is available for a fee in certain areas. Families residing outside of the school and charter boundaries are responsible for arranging transportation. Car pools are usually arranged in these situations. Under the Parent Tab on this website select Parent Information>Busing to find the busing handbook containing bus maps or contact the school office for current maps of busing areas, charter fees and availability.

Is a Hot Lunch program available?
Lunch (with milk) is served daily at a minimum charge, in cooperation with the Mounds View  School District food service program. Milk is also available to students who bring their own lunch.

Is there a uniform code?
A uniform code of dress is required for all grade levels. Our Catholic school uniform shows dignity to the process of education and is a visual sign of our school community. Our uniform reflects our belief of basic equality in the eyes of God, and shows respect for authority and order. St. Odilia students wear their uniform in a manner which reflects pride in themselves and in our school.

Middle school students have a different uniform than elementary students. Points sweatshirts are used to recognize middle school students' academic, athletic, service, and extra-curricular achievements. Typically, students earn their sweatshirts by the middle of seventh grade.  All uniform items may be purchased from the Donald's Uniform Store

Is before- and after-school care available?
Our Knight Watch program offers before- and after-school care programs at St. Odilia School. Hours are: before school, from 7:00 a.m. to start of school; after school, from end of school to 6:00 p.m., also on school release days/summer.  Hours may change. Contact the school office for more information and pricing.

What about school closings?
In the unlikely event that school is closed due to bad weather, please check WCCO radio or TV, or this link.

What is the School Council?
The School Council consists of nine members of the parish (who also are parents of St. Odilia students), the principal, and two faculty members.

The School Council forms school policy and advises the principal and Parish Education Commission in the areas of school finances, policies, communications, human resources, and legal issues.
School Council meetings are held monthly and open to all members of the parish. The School Council is explained more thoroughly on our website and in our school handbook.

Is there a Parent Association?
The Parent Action Association (PAA) is an active group of parents who support St. Odilia School. The PAA has three main goals:
  • Keep tuition reasonable through fundraising (mainly through the Marathon for Non-Public Education)
  • Provide volunteer programs
  • Build community by supporting teachers, providing hospitality, and responding to parent needs
All parents of St. Odilia students are members of this association, have an equal voice in PAA business, and are invited to attend monthly PAA meetings. The PAA is explained more thoroughly on our PAA FusionPage and in our school handbook.

Are there volunteer opportunities?
A solid foundation of parent volunteers contributes to the success of the education at St. Odilia. Within each grade, parents help in a variety of ways to support the school, staff, and students. A volunteer form is distributed at the beginning of the school year.

How do I log-in to the website?
A guide to the website is available HERE.  Pick up your username and password information from the school office.  Enter that information in the upper right corner to access information about your children or items such as the Principal's Newsletter.
