  For New Volunteers!

VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children Training Session
Thursday, June 2nd, 2016, 6:30pm
School Library

Are you planning to become a NEW volunteer at St. Odilia?
In our Archdiocese, all volunteers who have regular or unsupervised interaction with minors or vulnerable adults, must complete the “Essential 3” requirements prior to commencement of service.  The Essential 3 consists of signing the Volunteer Code of Conduct, completing a safe environment training session called VIRTUS: Protecting God’s Children and undergoing a background check.

To register to become a volunteer at St.Odilia and complete the Essential 3:
1. Go to www.stodilia.org and click the “Get Involved” tab and then “Volunteer” tab to print out the Volunteer Packet that includes complete instructions for completing the Essential 3 requirements.
2. Next, visit www.virtus.org. Click on the “First-Time Registrant” button to create a personal Virtus account which will allow you to register for the VIRTUS class, sign the Code of Conduct and request a background check. If the June 2nd class scheduled at St. Odilia does not work with your schedule, you will have the opportunity to select another session at another location. There are many sessions scheduled. You can register for any “open” session outside your parish/school.

More info: Kelly Gunderson, 651-415-3326.

  A Message from the Nurse

As the end of the school year nears, thoughts are often on family vacations and fun. It is also a time to start thinking about your child’s school health needs for next fall.  Please click HERE for information on physicals, immunizations and preschool screening.

For new students starting St. Odilia School in the fall, please contact your current school to transfer your child’s immunizations and health record.

There is still plenty of colds and flu about so we would like to remind parents to keep their child home if any of the following exist.
  • Fever over 100° (Please keep child home for 24 hours after fever is gone without the use of fever reducing medications such as Tylenol of Advil)
  • Diarrhea or vomiting (Please keep child home for 24 hours after the last episode)
  • A rash that is unexplained or undiagnosed by the doctor
Also please keep your child at home if they are too sick to participate in the normal school day.

All Library Books Due Thursday, May 26th!
It's time to look in every nook and cranny for missing library books.  All library materials must be returned to the library by Thursday, May 26th.  If you cannot locate a missing book, please contact Mrs. Conway at Conway@stodilia.org.  Happy hunting!
  Next Year's School Supplies

Parents,
We are excited to announce we are again working with 1st Day School Supplies.

1st Day School Supplies helps parents and teachers get the exact supplies needed for next school year without the hassle and aggravation of shopping at Wal‐Mart, Target, or Office Max. I have personally found 1st Day School Supplies to be convenient, easy and hassle free! Plus, the prices are competitive!

So, this summer as the temperature hits over 90 degrees, and lines at the checkout counter are a mile long …you can be worry free knowing you have already purchased your school supplies from the comfort of your home! Not to mention, avoiding the inconvenience of stores running out of the item you need. You can make your purchase right now; get started by clicking the link below.  Thank You,

Theresa Jesh
